This quote hits home lately. I've been a little homesick and wanting to change things that can't reasonably be changed. Hope ya'll enjoy this as much as I do.
If you are anything like the travel-crazed person I am then you probably try to cram as many attractions in a day or short trip as you possibly can. Honestly, if you're traveling for less than a week and then heading back to your J.O.B. and home that might be the way to do it. For me, though, I prefer to spend time doing a wide variety of things while in a new place. I like to be like a local. I like to be like a tourist. I like to eat. A lot. I like to relax. I like to rush around. So, when I spent four weeks in Florence, Italy, I was able to do a little of all the things I like. That is good news for you because it means I have a pretty thorough idea of the top places to go, things to see, etc. Here they are: 1. Duomo This is top on my list because it is truly breathtaking. Whether you like art, history, views of the city, or cathedrals/basilicas/churches you can find it all right here, at the Duomo. Duomo is Italian for Dome and is a huge part of Cattedrale Santa Maria del
Ladies, this past weekend I found a gem in the back of my closet. I've had it for a couple years now and I think I've only worn it once. Annnnnd here it is: This is a model. Not me or my picture. Cute, right? Well it is I SWEAR.. this picture just doesn't do it justice. Maybe that's why even though I moved to a different state (where it is much warmer and my closet is much bigger) I haven't worn it in years. I don't even know what made me try it on. It fit too tightly the last time I wore it and nothing special happened that day so I suppose I don't associate the dress with being that great. Oh, but it is. Please don't mind my princess act.. my hair is just so long and the wind here in Oklahoma City is NO JOKE. So back to why our favorite clothes go unworn; we just don't give our clothes enough credit. Simply put, our bodies and style are constantly changing. Pull out those shirts that just didn't fit right a
Y'all this gets me every time! So, here are my top 5 proper etiquette tips (most common but forgotten): 1.) Say Please, Thank You & Excuse Me. Often. It is well noted and appreciated. 2.) Write "Thank You" Notes. I've mentioned the importance of writing "thank you" notes on a previous post but I just can't stress it enough. 3.) When Dining; the fork goes on the left of the plate and the knife then the spoon goes on the right. In a lot of dining settings you will be confused as to which fork is for the salad or what the tiny fork is for (oysters, y'all!) and that's OK, but try to educate yourselves on proper settings so that you can feel confident at all dinning settings and even throw your own formal dinner parties! 4.) Know when it is appropriate to talk on the phone. For example, when you're checking out at the department or grocery store it is NOT appropriate to be on your phone. If people are giving you a quizzical/ dirty lo
