Proper Etiquette

Image
Y'all this gets me every time! So, here are my top 5 proper etiquette tips (most common but forgotten): 1.) Say Please, Thank You & Excuse Me. Often. It is well noted and appreciated. 2.) Write "Thank You" Notes. I've mentioned the importance of writing "thank you" notes on a previous post but I just can't stress it enough. 3.) When Dining; the fork goes on the left of the plate and the knife then the spoon goes on the right. In a lot of dining settings you will be confused as to which fork is for the salad or what the tiny fork is for (oysters, y'all!) and that's OK, but try to educate yourselves on proper settings so that you can feel confident at all dinning settings and even throw your own formal dinner parties! 4.) Know when it is appropriate to talk on the phone. For example, when you're checking out at the department or grocery store it is NOT appropriate to be on your phone. If people are giving you a quizzical/ dirty lo...

Just a note..

Lately I've been obsessed with stationary and greeting cards. I remember getting my first set of stationary with "Patricia" displayed so perfectly across the front of the cards when I was probably eight, and my parents wouldn't have wanted it any other way, trust me. Although I grew up when sending thank-you cards was occurring less and less and my parents were easing up on being so strict (the perks of being the baby of the family) I still heard the endless stories of my siblings having to sit at the dining room table and write thank-you cards after their birthdays and other holidays. It may not have been forced upon me but I am one person that truly sees the point behind sending a personal note via snail mail. Or personally delivering it.

New Week

I decided over the weekend that I can't be tied to a laptop throughout the week and that I needed to keep my space. So unless it's a SPECTACULAR day and reason I'll be sharing my thankfulness throughout the regular work-week, or something like that. Today, I am loving my coffee and tea relationships. I posted this picture on IG a little bit ago and I just love how much of my personality is in it. From the Eiffel Tower mugs to the specific kinds of tea I enjoy. This is a perfect morning for me; in a nutshell at least.
